Witbier

WITBIER

Witbier is a type of Belgian wheat beer that was brewed already in the medieval times. A special type of spice called “gruid” was used in making this beer. Most of the times it was a combination of coriander and orange peel. Thanks to the use of oat flakes the beer contains starchy substances that create a haze typical for this kind of beer. It is a light refreshing beer.

The brewery falls in the mini-brewery category and it was founded by brewmaster Martin Matuška, who has been working in the beer industry since 1981.
